The Triumph of Instrument Flight
Traces aviation from the Wright Brothers in 1903. The first airlines tried to maintain flight schedules by day and only in good weather. Technology for all-weather flying existed before practical pilot instrumentation. The years between 1932 and 1935 saw the key flight instruments and navigation equipment reach the cockpit. The author takes the reader right into the pilot's seat for actual experiences.
Joining the War at Sea 1939-1945
An eyewitness account. U.S. Navy destroyers in WWII ASW convoy support in the North Atlantic followed by destroyer assault landing support at Casablanca, Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and Southern France. Nineteen months of sea combat involving U.S. forces in the European theatre took place before Normandy. The 3rd Infantry Division, the 36th Division, the 45th Division and U.S. Rangers were put ashore and supported by close in fire support.

An Impractical Guide to Building a Laptop Computer
