Henshaw Index 1 was developed in 2007, to go with: Joining the War at Sea 1939-1945; 3rd Edition ISBN 0966625145, author Franklyn E. Dailey Jr.
January 1, 2009 Update: The Henshaw Ship's Index has now been edited by Pieter Graf, a Dutch scholar, who has corrected all spellings of European ships and naval vessels, and has introduced a completely new 44-page Index, including Army and Air Corps units of all participating countries of World War II in the European North African theatre, plus all geographical names of places, bodies of water etc. Only the Ship's Index portion is included here, originated in 2007 by Mark Henshaw, edited in 2008 by Pieter Graf. The complete Graf Index ,can be found beginning on page 414 of the 4th Edition of Joining the War at Sea, ISBN 0966625153; this Edition has superseded all prior editions, including the 3rd Edition. The Ship's Index, below, works also for the pagination of the 3rd Edition.
