As previously reported, the West Point's first war cruise ended in San Francisco, April 1942. I received some additional information from James Williams, whose father, Walter B Williams, nickname Dub, served in the Persian Gulf Command from 1942 to July of 1944. Walter was born in 1910 in Greenville, TX and died in 1983 in Dallas, TX.

James shared his father's diary recordings showing travel aboard the West Point beginning on November 1, 1942. He boarded the West Point in New York Harbor. The diary begins on October 11, 1942 and ends on December 11, 1942.

See below the diary entries. Thanks to James Williams, bigrigjim@sbcglobal.net, for providing this valuable information and giving permission for adding this to the website.
